Can I use FusionCAD on a Macintosh?

Unfortunately, our software does not support the operating system Mac OS. However, you may install a Windows emulations software, i.e. Parallels Desktop, on your Mac OS system to simulate a PC where you can install Microsoft Windows.

In this created Windows environment (XP or Vista with 32 bit, or Windows 7 with 32/64 bit) our softwware runs properly and can be used on your Apple computer.

At launching the program an error message occurs

“I use Windows Vista work with FusionCAD without any problems for quite a while. Due to the non-appearance of the help pages, I loaded all necessary extensions from the Microsoft homepage and installed them.

Since then, after launching the program the error message “The registration of the outline editor failed. No outlines can be created interactively or worked on.”

During the work on my project further error messages appear, i.e. when opening the window macro “Interface error! A Control contained in the dialogue could not be installed.

Please check the following filename: …\ FenZeiOCX.dll. A new installation of the whole program did not solve the problem.”

There is probably a general problem registering the program under Windows Vista. To solve the problem try to install this patch (follow this link).

Make sure to install the patch with the administrative rights for the user account where the program should run. To eliminate further error sources deactivate Windows Defender and your anti-virus and firewall software.

Moreover, we suggest running our software with administrative rights all the time, this is the default setting and should not be changed.

At least once after installing the patch you should run the program as administrator to make sure all links and access rights were updated properly.

Installation on a different drive?

“I wanted to install FusionCAD on a different drive than C. The installation runs properly, but afterwards the vertical toolbar the option menu contains one line less than is supposed to.

The option for chimneys opens an empty pop-up menu. When I installed the software on drive C this error does not occur. Can I circumvent this problem? My operating system is Vista.”

Apparently, during the installation on a different drive the visual designs in Vista have been activated. By clicking right on the program’s desktop shortcut you open the program attributes and afterwards call the compatibility settings. There, “visual designs deactivated” must be active.

In case that does not work, open your chosen installation directory in the Windows Explorer. In the subdirectory “program” you will find the executing file for FusionCAD. By clicking right you can change the compatibility settings directly there. Maybe you will be asked to confirm your administrative rights.

Problems with FusionCAD after installing Win7

“I had installed FusionCAD on a laptop with WinXP and it run properly. Now, I installed it on a new laptop with Win7 64-bit and it crashes during many applications.

My impression is that it crashes whenever a *.ini file is involved. The outline editor fails (the Vista-patch does not help). The window settings are not saved (i.e. I have to write the catalogue anew every time I open the file).

If I edit the primary colors (i.e. to tick at “diffuse color and texture mixing”) the program crashes, after restarting the tick is set again. If I open an existing window by the window macro it crashes, because the according *.dll file allegedly is non-existent. In this condition, the program is useless for me.

Are there any advices other than installing WinXP?”

The described failures hint at missing access rights or an incorrect Program registration. To avoid problems you should install FusionCAD with administrative rights and run as administrator if possible.

If you run the patch as administrator, the patch normally does the according adaptions. Problems running the patch may be caused by your anti-virus software or Windows Defender.

Try to deactivate them temporarily. If the problems cannot be solved this way, de-install the software and remove the according directory at “C:\program\…” by hand.

Then do a complete new installation of the software and the patch. With a subsequent installation of the patch the access restrictions for some necessary files and directories can probably not be abolished which requires a complete regeneration.

Does the depiction in FusionCAD meet architectural needs?

The depiction in our software meets architectural standards in respect to measure values and the substitutional imaging of walls, doors, windows, staircases and roofs. In this type of depiction construction elements are visualized in a form common for architects.

You switch to the display suitable for architects, by choosing the point use in the undermenu of display suitable for architects.

Turning on the display suitable for architects fundamentally affects always all reffered construction elements. This means that you can not see stairs in the display suitable for architects and the doors in the normal display suitable, while planning.

Which dxf formats can be read by “import foil”?

There may be a conflict between the AcadVersion of your dxf-file and the dwg-/dxf-import filter of our software. This problem can be solved by converting your file into a different AutoCAD-format.

You may use the free limited demo of “Any DWG DXF Converter” to convert your files. It has proved to choose DXF as file output format and AutoCAD 12 as file version. You get a file identical in content that can easily be imported in FusionCAD.

Is FusionCAD appropriate for architectural amateurs to plan a building extension and a complete furnishing?
FusionCAD is easy-to-use software and appropriate for CAD beginners as well as professionals.

After a short training period extensions of existing buildings can be planned conveniently. Our software contains all necessary applications to design your new furnishments.

Waiver of building plans, administrative procedures and architects?

“I just started projecting my new home. By using your software can I draw my project without the need of further building plans, administrative procedures or employing an architect? This would necessitate static calculation.”

With FusionCAD, the professional architecture and visualization software, you are able to draw and visualize your projects in floor plan and 3D. Creating plans according to architectural standards with all necessary sections and views is no problem with FusionCAD.

A standardized area calculation is also included. Unfortunately, FusionCAD does not support static analysis and structural engineering.

Rooms in spatial planning mode

“I draw a rough draft of my rooms on different floors in spatial planning mode and refine them in construction mode afterwards.

With the basement it went quite well, the rooms were transferred from spatial planning to construction mode. But with the ground floor I get error messages when changing from spatial planning to construction mode already at the first room.

The new room has also not been transferred to construction mode. Have I made any mistakes or are there any important criteria to be kept in the spatial planning mode?”

Such errors may occur when you frequently switch between spatial planning and construction mode while drawing, especially if you do changes in your floor plan in construction mode.

That may cause losing the relation of walls in construction mode to rooms defined in spatial planning mode. Every time you leave the spatial planning mode the program tries to reconstruct the defined rooms by insertion of new walls.

This may lead to errors recalculating the spatial outlines. That’s why, when using the spatial planning mode, you should draw the floor plan of your ground floor first and transfer it to the construction mode.

If you have major changes of your floor in construction mode afterwards then you should delete your room definitions in the spatial planning mode. When creating new floors in construction mode you adopt the existing floor plan and adapt it in construction mode.

Polygon rooms

“I want to draw a polygon room in spatial planning mode. I choose the button and mark the corners. When finished, I double-click.

Then, I see my polygon room, but only as outline. As soon as I move the mouse cursor from the room it disappears and is not visible in the spatial planning mode afterwards. How do I properly finish the spatial planning mode to keep the polygon room (as with normal rooms)?”

To finish drawing a polygon room in spatial planning mode do either click right or Esc, finishing your entry by double-click is not possible. After finishing your entry a dialogue window appears where you can do further changes or entries. After clicking OK the room is created.

Is it possible to draft a bathroom with FusionCAD?

Does FusionCAD run with Windows 7?

Our FusionCAD software runs properly on computers with Windows 7 64bit as well as Windows 7 32bit. Extensive tests and numerous progress reports from our customers have showed no problems.

Can I change the scales in a project with FusionCAD?

All entries in FusionCAD will be1:1, independent from the scale chosen for depiction. Thus, a 3D-model of your project is created. The scale for depiction of your floor plans and section can be changed anytime in the project options.

Coloured interior walls

How can I characterize the interior walls of a room with different colous and textures? When I choose a colour for a single wall it is set for the whole room.

If you refer a texture to an interior wall of your apartment or house, this normally applies to all walls with the same texture within this room. To avoid this, press the Shift-Key and click on the wall to choose simultaneously.
